aol health insurance now available in oregon

Following approval from Oregon’s  Division of Financial Regulation at the end of 2023,  Associated Oregon Loggers is now offering logger health plans through the association. The new AOL Association Insurance Program, offered by a partnership between the AOL Health Benefits Trust and the insurance provider, Health Net of Oregon.

The AOL Health Benefits Trust is a new AOL subsidiary, owned by the association, that will oversee the AOL Insurance program and its several partner organizations. Additionally, third-party administrator TailorWell will provide customer service to all insured employers.

According to AOL Executive Vice President Rex Storm, the new benefit comes after a two-year effort by the AOL team, following a spring 2022 go-ahead from the AOL board of directors’ to begin developing an association health plan. Storm adds that the new offering is a “triple-win” for members by providing discounted value savings for members; a new benefit that attracts new members; and net income to help support AOL service programs.

According to an AOL news release, the purpose built employee benefit is designed for forest contractors statewide, and there are two agents now accepting quote requests and offering discounted health benefit options for employees, families, and owners.
