LIGNA Hosts Forwarder Competition

The 15th Lower Saxony (State) Forwarder Championship was held on May 29 during the LIGNA show at the Exposition Grounds in Hannover, Germany. Ponsse and John Deere forwarders took center stage. The first round, “Tower Building,” was all about skill and speed. Forwarder operators stacked wooden blocks as quickly and precisely as possible. The top 16 finishers advanced to the Cup Competition, where two drivers went head-to-head, navigating a challenging course and loading the machines with wood at different stations, again scoring on speed and precision, with the winners proceeding to the same head-to-head competition in the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals. First place champion was Leon Schäfer (Lower Saxony, Germany), second place was Christian Maier (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany), and third place went to Günther Weismann (Bavaria, Germany).
