Oregon Logging Conference Back In Eugene
Better ideas and new strategies relative to the Northwestern style of logging will be featured at this year’s Oregon Logging Conference, hosted at the Lane County Events Center and Fairgrounds in Eugene from February 20-22, 2020.
On February 19, speakers will assess the different methods for Westside, Eastside and cubic scaling while discussing optimal bucking for getting the most value out of a tree. Speakers will also address the current state and federal legislation and discuss “grassroots” advocacy and how it effects both state and federal politics. Social media techniques will also be highlighted.
High school students throughout Oregon and southwest Washington will have an opportunity learn first-hand about career opportunities at the third annual Future Forestry Workers Career Day, February 21. Participating students will get the chance to view state-of-the-art and technologically advanced forestry equipment, held in Livestock Arena at the Fairgrounds.
Seminars specific to Oregon forestry practices will discuss steep slope and tethered logging, future insect damage and fire potential implications, and legislative updates.
Forestry practices tailored toward Washington will include sessions on chainsaws to tethered machines on steep slopes and protecting resources and improving efficiency through drone use.
A key part of the OLC will be the hands-on forum sponsored by Weiler Forestry, who will introduce the history and philosophy of the Weiler brand.
OLC’s three-day conference taking place February 20-22, 2020, will continue to advancing industry and assisting forestry professionals.
