Timber Harvesting Logger Survey: Insurance Voted Biggest Challenge
Asked to rate a dozen different business and industry issues as having the biggest impact on their businesses, almost three-quarters of U.S. loggers (so far)—72%—say insurance issues have the biggest impact on their business, according to the latest from the annual Logger Survey conducted by Timber Harvesting magazine. Next up are limited markets, cited by 58% of loggers, and load quotas that 53% say have the biggest impact on their business. These results are just a small part of the 2025 Timber Harvesting Logger Survey that is still open until May 31.
Loggers across the country are participating, and the impact of multiple mill closures in the past two years is definitely reflected in the results as more than a third of loggers (38%) say they have downsized their company in the past two years. If you haven’t already, please take the time to participate and complete the TH 2025 Logger Survey by clicking here. Thanks for your time and help in giving us a clear picture of American loggers. Results are published in the July-August issue of Timber Harvesting magazine.
