Arrests Made, Logging Equipment Recovered In Alabama Theft
A joint investigation by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office and the Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC) into thefts of timber harvesting equipment and components in six counties has resulted in the arrest of four men and the recovery of some of the property. The AFC reported that Robert Michael Williams, Lafayette Alexander Hall, Terry Tyrone Square and Willie Thomas were arrested on charges of theft and receiving stolen property.
AFC Chief Craig Hill credits Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden and his staff with initiating the case when they arrested an individual that had stolen a log trailer. This one arrest resulted in solving cases in the six counties where the value of stolen or destroyed equipment was valued at more than $236,000.
